Quarantine Stress? Here’s How Oxytocin Might Help

Feeling lonely and “Out of touch”?
The solution may be in a nasal spray or oral solution.

At Community Clinical Pharmacy, we have been compounding Oxytocin preparations for several years. However, having enough Oxytocin is more important than ever, during stressful times

One of the best and most natural ways to cope with stress is to have close physical proximity with friends and relatives. A simple touch increases your own oxytocin production. A hug or a kiss can go a long way to boost your mood. During or after a trauma in life, we are often comforted by friends and relatives, giving and receiving hugs, or cuddling with a loved one.

During this time of social distancing and lack of physical touch, oxytocin nasal sprays or oral solutions can help many individuals who may feel particularly lonely as physical distancing has forced them to cope with grief and stress alone.

What is Oxytocin?

Oxytocin is an amazing hormone that is produced in the hypothalamus, which is part of the brain.

Oxytocin is also known as The “love hormone” or the “cuddle hormone”. It is a hormone that can promote feelings of intimacy and make you want to be close to someone.

Oxytocin plays an important role in social bonding, sexual reproduction in both men and women, and during and after childbirth. In addition to that, Oxytocin lowers serum cortisol which is often called “stress hormone.”

That is why it can improve mood. In recent years we have seen an increase in demand for compounding Oxytocin for many different medical conditions.

Are there any other indications for using Oxytocin?

We are seeing Oxytocin being used in managing anxiety, depression, pain and preventing the development of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). There is also some evidence suggesting that it can be beneficial for those with autism in terms of social interactions and bonding.

How Can a Patient Get Oxytocin from Community Clinical Pharmacy?
