Know Your Hormone Levels and Put Your Health First
Hormone imbalances can affect both men and women. Symptoms can be minimal, while in many cases they are severe, causing negative effects to one’s quality of life. It is important to get your hormone levels checked and address any deficiencies with a plan of action.
How Do I Test Hormone Levels?
There are three easy ways to check specific hormone levels: At-home Saliva Testing, Blood Spot Testing, and Urine Testing.
Saliva Testing
Saliva testing is a collection method where patients collect their saliva at home, utilizing swabs and plastic tubes in order to measure hormones like cortisol, estrogens, progesterone, and androgens.

This non-invasive saliva collection is ideal for patients because it allows them to collect their sample in the privacy of their home or office. Saliva hormone testing has become a useful resource for health care providers and patients around the globe.
Saliva testing measures the amount of hormone available to target tissues – the bioavailable amount. For this reason, saliva testing better relates to specific symptoms of excess or deficiency, and is a good option for monitoring hormone therapy. Source: ZRT

Blood Spot Testing
You also have the option of having your levels checked through easy blood spot testing that can be done at home. We have used blood spot testing for many years as it is a convenient way to get your testing done even when you don’t have a doctor’s order.
Dried blood spot is a form of collection where patients place blood drops on a special card after a finger prick with a lancet. Everything you need is provided in the kit including lancet, the card, alcohol swab, etc. Once dry, blood spot cards are extremely stable for shipment and storage. Blood spot testing offers an excellent correlation with serum tests.
Urine Testing
Another at-home testing option is dried urine testing, which is a discreet and easy alternative to the hassles of all-day jug urine collection. Urine is collected on a filter strip up to four times during the day. The dried strips are shelf-stable for 30 days and can simply be sent back to the lab for analysis.
